Ooh weee, do we have a busy month ahead! October ended, gave us an extra hour of sleep and pushed us into high gear to end 2023 with a bang! We've got a slurry of events we are participating in this month and put together this guide to share with y'all (we'd love to see your smiling faces!) and to help us stay organized with everything.
Founded by Marie Austin, of Connecticut in 2020 (during the pandemic that left so many of us isolated), the Light The Night initiative works by turning the simple act of decorating with holiday lights into a beacon of community spirit and support. The initiative partners with local businesses and charities, amplifying the impact of each twinkling bulb by driving local commerce and supporting families in need.Light The Night’s interactive website and nation-wide map guide spectators through a winter wonderland of lights, encouraging community engagement and small donations to sustain and expand this luminous tradition. As the initiative grows, it continues to spread not just light, but hope, joy, and the spirit of giving, illuminating the path for community-driven celebrations across the country.
See our write up below (and be sure you subscribe to stay tuned for the release of the Holiday Resource Guide. Goodness knows we could all use a little guidance through the holidaze!):
Believe it or not, but the 2023 HoliDAZE are upon us! We'll be setting up, along with tons of other local artists and makers, at quintessential-Austin-must, Blue Genie Art Bazar! It's by far our favorite holiday stop - free parking, free admission, full bar so you can sip while you shop, it's full of crazy talent, and throughout the season will host events, music, meet the makers and all sorts of holiday fun. Running November 17 - Christmas Eve, 10am-10pm daily. Don't miss it!
